PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device and an optical unit which exhibits excellent optical performance, and also to provide an image forming apparatus including the optical device or the optical unit to form a high-quality image. SOLUTION: The optical device 1A has: a movable plate 22A provided with a light reflection part 221A having light reflectivity; a pair of connection parts 23A and 24A which are connected to the movable plate 22A and turnably support the movable plate 22A; a driving means which turns the movable plates 23A and 24A; and a light shielding member 4A which is provided opposite to the light reflection part 221A and shields stray light while passing the light deflected or scanned at the light reflection part 221A.
