PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredder with a smoother for shredded wastepaper which includes an extremely small number of addition components and which can drive utilizing the rotation of a cutter. SOLUTION: The smoother for shredded wastepaper is provided with a paper smoothening member 5 which has a paper smoothening part 5a extended along the cutter at the lower part of the cutter, an arm member 10 which is fixed to the paper smoothening member 5 and to which the rotative behavior to one direction is imparted, and a driving member 8 which is fixed to the rotation axis 3 of the cutter and is brought into moving contact with the arm member 10.
