摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode assembly for a direct alcohol type fuel cell, in which the oxidization reaction of alcohol being fuel is accelerated by the cooperation between platinum and an alcohol oxidation acceleration metal, and to provide a direct alcohol type fuel cell that has the membrane-electrode assembly. SOLUTION: The membrane-electrode assembly for a direct alcohol type fuel cell is configured, such that an anode catalyst layer includes a platinum-alcohol oxidization acceleration metal alloy; the content ratio of an alcohol oxidization acceleration metal in the platinum-alcohol oxidization acceleration metal alloy is less than 15 mol% at the upstream end, in the flow direction of supplied alcohol, when expressed in terms of mole percent, while being a value that exceeds 15 mol% at the downstream end of the flow direction.
