METHOD OF PERFORMING LOCATION UPDATE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for performing the location update in a wireless communication system is provided to remove the collision which may be generated by a contention-based initial ranging. CONSTITUTION: A method for performing the location update in a wireless communication system comprises the following steps of: transmitting a message for requesting to periodically transmit a paging message for instructing execution of the location update(S210); periodically receiving the paging message in an idle mode(S230,S240); and receiving a response message including the transmission period of the paging message. The request message is a DREG- REQ(Deregistration-Request) message. The paging message includes a dedicated code for the location update.
