COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLING THE INCREASE OF BLOOD GLUCOSE USING POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL AND GALLATED CATECHIN

摘要

PURPOSE: A blood-sugar increase-preventing composition and a health food comprising the same are provided to prevent sugar from being absorbed into stomach and intestines by different action mechanism from that of common hypoglycemic agents. CONSTITUTION: A health food comprises a green tea extract and a polymeric material as active ingredients. The green tea extract contains one or more materials selected among epigallocatechin gallate or epicatechin gallate. The polymeric material suppresses the epigallocatechin gallate or epicatechin gallate from being absorbed into blood. The polymeric material is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol(PEG), PEG derivative, water-soluble copolymer, methoxy polyethylene glycol(mPEG) and polypropylene glycol(PPG).
