METHOD FOR EXAMINING STAINLESS STEEL

PURPOSE: A stainless steel testing method is provided to discriminate low-nickel stainless steel and high-nickel stainless steel through a test. CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel testing method is as follows. An acidic salt solution is dropped on stainless steel(9). A part of the stainless steel is colored as the acidic salt solution reacts with the metallic ion electrolyzed from the stainless steel. The color is compared with the reference color of stainless steel. A reference color database including a set of reference colors which express various types of reference stainless steel is constructed.
