<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent material capable of obtaining high luminance without complicating a light emitting diode, excellent in heat resistance and light resistance, and capable of obtaining a long life of the light emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent material consists of a ceramic sintered compact composed of a single inorganic material, has a linear transmittance at a peak wavelength of the fluorescent light of ≥73%, and a surface roughness (Ra) at a light emitting surface of 0.6 to 2.7 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
