<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cysteine protease inhibitor which excels in safety, can be produced in a large amount at a low cost, and has action to effectively inhibit the activity of cysteine protease. <P>SOLUTION: The cysteine protease inhibitor includes lactoperoxidase present in milk as an active ingredient and a food and drink composition or a feed composition includes the cysteine protease inhibitor.
