PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that suppresses a decrease in adjustment precision of parameters defining a picture quality. SOLUTION: Preprocess blocks PB1 to PB4 capture four partial images output in parallel from an image sensor in response to a clock CLK1 having a frequency of≤432 MHz, and subject the four partial images to four preprocesses responding to a clock CLK2 having a frequency 1/4 as high as the frequency of the clock CLK1, respectively. An image based upon the four processed partial images is output from an LCD monitor. An evaluated image generating circuit 76 generates an evaluated image based upon the four processed partial images in response to a clock CLK3. The frequency of the clock CLK3 is adjusted within a range based upon 1/4 of 432 MHz as an upper limit. Parameters defining the quality of the output image are adjusted on the basis of the thus generated evaluated image. Thus, the decrease in adjustment precision of the parameters defining the picture quality is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
