<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve arithmetic accuracy of electric field reconstruction. <P>SOLUTION: An optical receiving apparatus 100 is configured to compensate for deterioration of a received optical signal by using division based on an intensity of the optical signal. A receiving unit 120 outputs an electric signal corresponding to a phase of the received optical signal and an electric signal corresponding to the intensity of the received optical signal. Analog first division circuit 142i and second division circuit 142q divide the electric signal, corresponding to the phase, output by the receiving unit 120 with the electric signal, corresponding to the intensity, output by the receiving unit 120. A first ADC 150i and a second ADC 150q perform digital conversion upon the electric signal divided by the first division circuit 142i and the second division circuit 142q.
