<p>The process for the production of functional film comprises the coating fluid preparation step (12) of preparing a coating fluid, the application step (14) of applying the coating fluid to a substrate (18) to form a single coating layer, and the drying step (16) of drying the coating layer. In the coating fluid preparation step (12), plural kinds of solute materials (A) and (B) are incorporated into at least one kind of solvent (3), the solute material (A) being a functional solute material and the solute material (B) being other solute material. When D11 and D22 refer respectively to the main diffusion coefficient of the functional solute material (A) and that of the other solute material (B), the other solute material (B) is so selected as to satisfy inequality (A): D11<D22, whereby the functional solute material (A) is so unevenly distributed in the drying step (16) as to be present in a higher concentration in the surface of the film than in the other parts of the film.</p> |
