AUTOMATIC DETECTION CONTROLLER OF DISPERSION COMPENSATION VALUE, ITS METHOD, AND ITS PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine dispersion compensations value in the state the dispersion compensation value can not be uniquely determined only with prior information.

SOLUTION: When a range of a dispersion compensation value where a dispersion processed main signal synchronizes and no code error is produced exceeds a previously set threshold, a dispersion compensation part 1 performs follow-up dispersion compensation processing to a main signal and causes attenuation of the main signal. A synchronization detection part 2 detects a synchronization detection result signal about the attenuated main signal, and a code error detection part 3 detects a code error detection result signal about the attenuated main signal. A dispersion compensation control part 4 extracts the range of dispersion compensation value where the main signal synchronizes and no code error is produced based on the synchronization detection result signal and a code error detection result signal. When the range of the extracted dispersion compensation value exceeds the foregoing threshold, it cause the dispersion compensation part 1 to further attenuate the main signal for follow-up dispersion compensation processing.
