PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating a fluorine gas, which can reduce a maintenance frequency of a detoxifying tower by inhibiting the clogging of a detoxifying agent, and can be continuously operated for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The apparatus for generating the fluorine gas is directed at generating a gas containing fluorine by electrolyzing an electrolysis bath that includes a mixed molten-salt containing hydrogen fluoride in an electrolysis tank, and has the detoxifying tower 5a for removing impurities contained in the gas generated in the electrolysis tank. The detoxifying tower 5a comprises a gas inlet 31, a gas outlet 32 and the detoxifying agent 33 filled between the gas inlet 31 and the gas outlet 32. The gas inlet 31 and the detoxifying agent 33 are separated through a space by a separating means 34 which can pass the gas and can block the passage of the detoxifying agent 33.
