Seal i.e. ceramic seal, for sealing stainless steel flanges as screwed pipe joint to transport e.g. fruit juice, in food industry, has ceramic material and components with zirconium dioxide matrix and aluminum matrix with hexagonal disks

The seal has components provided with a zirconium dioxide matrix and aluminum matrix with hexagonal disks, where the seal is made of high performance ceramic material. The seal is mechanically processed, sintered and finished for pipe joints using a diamond tool by pressing the seal. The ceramic component is sintered for gas-proof and higher density, where the seal is adapted by machine cutting process of metal flanges to be connected in such a manner that gap formation between the flanges is eliminated up to 0.2 millimeter. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing ceramic seal.
