<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mountability to a vehicle, to improve steering feeling during turn-back and to save power, in a steering device for the vehicle provided with a mechanical backup mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This steering device for the vehicle is provided with the mechanical backup mechanism 40 for releasing a mechanical connection of a steering wheel and a turning wheel when a steering system is normal and mechanically connecting the steering wheel with the turning wheel when the steering system is abnormal. The mechanical backup mechanism 40 is provided with speed increasing machines 41 and 42 for increasing speed of an input and outputting the input, a speed decreasing machine 43 for decreasing speed of an input and outputting the input, and a cable 44 for connecting an output part of the speed increasing machine 42 with an input part of the speed decreasing machine 43 so that power may be transmitted. The speed increasing machines 41 and 42 and the speed decreasing machine 43 are ones with internal gear lock mechanisms capable of being locked/unlocked by solenoids 41e, 42e and 43e which are controlled in operation by an electric control device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
