PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle having a sleeve of imparting favorable load resistance. SOLUTION: This SC type optical receptacle 50 is provided with holders 62, 63 having a hollow storage part penetrated through along a longitudinal direction, and the hollow cylindrical sleeve 61 internally fit to storage parts HS of the holders 62, 63, and for holding distal end faces of a pair of ferrules 71, 76 under a condition abutting each other.
