摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine upper structure having a cam carrier fastened to an upper surface of a cylinder head, keeping cam carrier strength relatively high while inhibiting a mass increase and inhibiting carrying of scattering oil near a cam section as much as possible by letting blow-by gas flow in oil separation chambers mainly through a gas flow opening. SOLUTION: A connection frame 33 is connected to a plurality of bearing wall sections supporting a plurality of bearing parts of an intake side camshaft 11 and a discharge side camshaft 21. Through holes 33a for insertion of spark plugs 31 are formed at proper portions in a cylinder bank direction, the oil separation chambers 41 are provided above the discharge side camshaft 21 and between the discharge side camshaft and the inner surface of a head cover 40 and a reinforcement plate section 34 extending to a discharge side camshaft 21 side is connected to the connection frame 33 at the respective bearing wall sections. The front end of a gas flow path 42 to the oil separation chambers 41 is extended to above the reinforcement plate sections 34 and the gas flow opening 43 passing through the reinforcement plate sections 34 is provided at a portion corresponding to the gas flow path 42 in the reinforcement plate sections 34.
