<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that updates and displays a communication history changed in a power saving mode, and thereby obtaining a status of data communication in the power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: When data are transmitted to or received from an external device by supplying power to only a communication part 106 even if the entire image forming apparatus 20 is stopped, the communication controller 118 of the communication part 106 to/from which data were transmitted/received drives an electronic paper 108 temporarily, thereby displaying a transmission/reception log on the electronic paper 108.
