PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting magnet drive circuit reducing heat generation in an energy absorbing section. SOLUTION: The lifting magnet drive circuit 1 includes: an H-bridge circuit section 4 having first and second transistors 41a, 41b sequentially connected in series between a high potential power supply and a low potential power supply, third and fourth transistors 41c, 41d electrically sequentially connected in series between the high potential power supply and the low potential power supply and first and fourth rectifying devices 42a-42d, and controlling magnetization and demagnetization of a lifting magnet 2; and the energy absorbing section 5 having a resistance element 51 connected between a terminal connected to the high potential power supply of the first transistor 41a in the H-bridge circuit section 4 and a terminal connected to the high potential power supply of the third transistor 41c therein, and absorbing energy stored in the lifting magnet 2 when demagnetizing the lifting magnet 2.
