PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element position control mechanism can prevent a straight moving nut and an optical element holding member from vibrating and of being constituted in a compact manner. SOLUTION: This optical element position control mechanism is provided with the optical element holding member to be guided to move straight, a feed screw being rotatable centered on a rotary shaft being parallel with the direction of travel of the optical element holding member, the straight moving nut to be screw-fitted in the feed screw, and a rotation regulating means for regulating rotation of the straight moving nut centered on the rotary shaft of the feed screw for the optical element holding member. The straight moving nut advances, retreats, and moves in the direction of rotary shaft of the feed screw depending on clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of the feed screw, and a position of the optical element holding member is controlled by the straight moving nut. An energizing means being elastically deformable in a plane being parallel with the rotary shaft of the feed screw to energize the straight moving nut in the direction for regulating rotation by the rotation regulating means is provided between the straight moving nut and the optical element holding member.
