PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that prevents variations of a brightness value due to a difference between projection distances. SOLUTION: Based on a correction coefficient for correcting brightness change due to positions of each pixel, i.e. by having a correction part 42 for correcting the brightness value of each pixel of image information by multiplying the correction coefficient to the brightness value of each pixel of the image information, the brightness value of an image whose brightness value is equal in the image information before correction is corrected so that the brightness value on a projection image is equal. Thus, the variations of the brightness value of each pixel on the projection image is suppressed, and the projection image whose brightness is uniform as a whole is formed.
