PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of suppressing variation in a through put, using a more inexpensive solenoid as a paper feed solenoid, and detecting a jam in the optimal timing. SOLUTION: The image forming device is equipped with an image forming means for forming an image on a recording paper with a developer material, a paper feed mechanism for feeding the recording paper to the image forming means, the paper feed solenoid for starting the drive of the paper feed mechanism, a current detection means for detecting the current flowing in the paper feed solenoid, a response time measuring means for measuring the response time of the paper feed solenoid from the change of the current detected by the current detection means, and a control means for controlling the paper feed mechanism. The control means solves the problem by the image forming device for adjusting (S64, S65) the paper feed timing of the following paper based on the response time measured by the response time measuring means.
