PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of combining (merging) channel guide information of a television system. SOLUTION: This invention is related to a method of combining television schedule information received from multiple source devices 26, 28, 30, 34. In the preferred embodiment, a microprocessor 36 combines and classifies the television schedule information received from multiple source devices 26, 28, 30, 34. Subsequently, the schedule information is displayed on television schedule guide. A user selects a program after designating the program in the displayed schedule information. Next, the system 10 performs automatic switching/tuning, and the desired source devices 26, 28, 30, 34 are input to a designating device 22 for tuning to a channel of the program selected by the tuner.
