The freezer has a freezing compartment (10) provided with two evaporators, where the evaporators are components of refrigerant circuits (20). The refrigerant circuits are separated from each other. The evaporators consist of windings (30, 40) and are arranged such that the windings of the evaporators rotate. The windings extend in a circumferential direction around the freezing compartment. A control unit controls the refrigerant circuits, such that one of the evaporators of the freezing compartment produces refrigerating capacity, if a refrigeration load exists in the freezing compartment.
