USE OF MICRORNA-203 AND SYSTEMS FOR EXPRESSING SAME IN THE MANUFACTURE OF CANCER DRUGS

The invention relates to the use of microRNA-203 and/or expression systems enabling the transcription of RNA molecules containing the microRNA-203 sequence and capable of maturing to give microRNA-203, in the manufacture of cancer drugs. The form of cancer to be treated is preferably malignant haematopoietic damage, particularly involving overexpression of gene ABL1 or having a hybrid gene of which gene ABL1 is a component part, e.g. BCR-ABL1 o NUP-ABL1. The invention is based on the fact that ABL1 is a microRNA-203 target and silenced in haematopoietic neoplasias, and that the treatment of tumour cells with microRNA-203 reduces ABL1 and BCR-ABL1 expression and tumour cell proliferation.
