PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistory building capable of reducing illumination energy by making a natural light get incident up to an elevator hall in the deepest side located in a position distant from an outer wall face, and capable of providing an open environment with a space felt wide, irrespective of adopting an arrangement plan of elevators planarly and linearly installed in a line with a plurality of elevator shafts and the plurality of elevator halls such as a center core type multistory building. SOLUTION: This multistory building planarly and linearly installed in a line with the plurality of elevator shafts 1 and the plurality of elevator halls 2 is constituted to make the natural light from an outside incident into a wall face of the elevator shaft 1 positioned in an end part, reach up to the elevator hall 2 located in the deepest side transmitting through the plurality of elevator shafts 1, by constituting the wall faces along an arrayed direction and right-angle thereto in the plurality of elevator shafts 1 of a transparent material.
