PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a topsheet for absorbent article having a configuration that can effectively cause spreading of liquid and dispenses with the non-woven fabric inner layer employed in the prior art. SOLUTION: The top sheet includes a flexible liquid pervious body 1 which has a flat liquid pervious base wall 11 with a first surface 111 and a second surface 112 that are arranged back to back with each other in a perpendicular direction Z relative to the sheet body 1 and a front edge 113 and a rear edge 114 that are set back to back with each other in a longitudinal direction Y. The sheet body 1 further has a plurality of protrusions 12 that are arranged separately from one another and protrude from the first surface 111 of the base wall 11 and that are distributed along the longitudinal direction Y as well as a widthwise direction X which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction Y. The first protrusions 12 are arranged in such a manner to form a plurality of open fluid channels 14 thereamong. The belt shape open fluid channels 14 extend from the front edge 113 to the rear edge 114 of the base wall 11, and have dimensions in the perpendicular and widthwise directions Z, X sufficient to provide capillary action.
