PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management system for shortening a response time when accessing in a file storage system using a meta server. SOLUTION: The meta server 30 stores mapping information for managing assignment of data comprising a file to a storage 20. A host 10 acquires mapping information within a data range to be accessed and a data range out of the range to be accessed when accessing data and registers the mapping information to a mapping information cache 12 for caching mapping information.
