PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a lid opening operation for a lid. SOLUTION: The document reader includes: a casing provided with a document mounting face for mounting a document to be read; the lid attached turnably to the casing, and provided with a base block part opposed to the document mounting face; a sheet arranged on the base block part and for pressing the document on the document mounting face, and an irregular part formed on a contact face contacting with the sheet on the base block part, and for imparting an irregular shape to the sheet.
