PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drive with a small number of parts and simple in structure. SOLUTION: This rotary drive is constituted by axially installing a rotation axis 3 in a device body 2, mounting two front and rear pinions 4, 5 on the rotation axis 3 through one-way clutches 6, 7 respectively having the same orientation, arranging a rack 8 to be engaged with the pinion 4 and a pair of right and left vertical frames 10, 11 having a rack 9 to be engaged with the other pinion 5 on both of right and left sides of both the pinions 4, 5, forming a portal elevating frame body 13 by connecting both of the right and left vertical frames 10, 11 to each other by a connecting frame 12 and interposing a spring 14 for raising and returning the elevating frame body between the connecting frame 12 of this elevating frame body 13 and the device body 2.
