The gear device (4) has a differential gear device (13) comprising an input shaft (12) and output shafts (16, 17). Superposition gear devices (20, 21) are arranged between the input shaft and the output shafts. The gear devices have an amplification factor that is dependent on direction of differential rotation between the output shafts. Actuating devices (22, 23) are attached to respective superposition gear devices. The actuating devices designed as electrical machines are operable in a motor-driven and dynamic manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a gear device.
