PROCESS FOR PRODUCING WATER-ABSORBING RESIN

A process for producing a water-absorbing resin is provided. By using the process, a water-absorbing resin having high material properties is stably produced with high productivity. The process for water-absorbing resin production comprises the steps of: polymerizing an aqueous acrylic acid solution; drying the resultant aqueous gel; pulverizing and classifying the dried gel; and crosslinking the surface of the dried gel which has been classified. In the process, a hopper is used which has a cone part having an angle of inclination of 45° or larger and has a contraction percentage of 30-80%.
