<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumed by an electronic device having a hard key and a touch panel as operating devices. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit 14 determines whether the touch panel 121 and the hard key 2 are used by a user. This determination is based on whether one of the operating devices such as the touch panel 121 or the hard key 2 has been operated continuously exceeding a threshold value. Further, the control unit 14 sets the operating device determined to be not used by the user to a power-saving mode.
