摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce drive loss of a mechanical supercharger, while preventing intake air quantity detection errors due to intake air pulsation. SOLUTION: In an operation zone where pressure in a collector tank 3 is close to ambient pressure, a control device for an internal combustion engine with a mechanical supercharger performs supercharging by the mechanical supercharger 7, and operates a throttle valve 5 to substantially full open position, while operating a bypass flow rate adjusting valve 9 to a close direction to prevent detection error of an intake air quantity detection means 10. In other operation zones, the mechanical supercharger 7 is stopped, and opening of the throttle valve 5 is controlled under the condition; where the bypass flow rate adjusting valve 9 is substantially fully opened, when demand torque is not so high as to require supercharging by the mechanical supercharger 7; and supercharging by the mechanical supercharger 7 is performed and the bypass flow rate adjusting valve 9 is operated from the roughly fully open position to a close direction, under the condition where the throttle valve 5 is kept at substantially the fully open position, when demand torque is so high as to require supercharging by the mechanical supercharger 7.
