<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can be increasing compression rate relative to a case where the present configuration is not included, and reducing image deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: An extracting unit of an image processing apparatus extracts pixel blocks from image data and extracts positions of the pixel blocks, and a similar-image extracting unit extracts similar pixel blocks from the pixel blocks and assigns a code can uniquely identify each of the pixel blocks. A phase estimating unit estimates phases of the pixel blocks on the basis of the similar pixel blocks, and a high-resolution representative-image generating unit generates a higher-resolution representative image on the basis of the similar pixel blocks and the phases, a vector converting unit converts the generated pixel blocks into vector information, and an encoding unit performs encoding on the basis of the positions of the pixel blocks extracted by the extracting unit, the codes corresponding to the pixel blocks, the phases and the vector information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
