<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously conduct intake air quantity control even when a throttle valve is out of order. <P>SOLUTION: An air inlet branch pipe 2 and an exhaust pipe 11 at downstream of the throttle valve 7 are connected by an EGR passage 16 and an EGR control valve 17 for controlling an EGR gas quantity is provided in the EGR passage 16. An ozone supply device 20 for supplying ozone is provided in the EGR passage 16 to oxidize and remove particulate matter. As the ozone supply device 20 is provided with an air passage 21 for connecting the EGR passage 16 at downstream of the EGR control valve 17 with an air inlet duct 4 at upstream of the throttle valve 7, an air control valve 23 for controlling an air quantity flowing in the air passage 21 and an ozone generator 22 for generating ozone from oxygen in air in the air passage 21 and thus the air flows into the air inlet branch pipe 2 via the air passage 21 and the EGR passage 16 when the air control valve 23 is opened. When the throttle valve 7 is out of order, an intake air quantity is controlled by controlling opening of the air control valve 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
