A method and corresponding device for detecting line status, and a predictive outbound dialing system are provided. The method for detecting line status includes steps of: receiving the signal to be detected carried by the communication circuit, obtaining signal feature information of the signal to be detected, comparing the signal feature information of the signal to be detected with at least one of the time domain feature and the frequency domain feature of the preset music signal, and if the signal feature of the signal to be detected accords with the preset music signal feature, confirming the line status is valid. When the signal to be detected carried by the communication circuit is a music signal, the line status can be accurately identified, and thereby an effective connection operation can be implemented, the accuracy rate of filtering out invalid-response phone calls can be increased, and the predictive outbound dialing system can be perfected.
