An electrophoretic display device, a method of driving the same, and an electronic apparatus are provided to reduce power consumption by operating the device while stopping a drive circuit, since there is no need to transmit an image signal. In an electrophoretic display device, a method of driving the same, and an electronic apparatus, an electrophoretic image display(100) comprises a display unit(5) in which a plurality of pixels(40) are arranged in a matrix shape. A controller(63) is connected with a scanning line driving circuit(61), data driving circuit(62), and a common power modulation circuit(64) respectively. A plurality of scanning lines(66) extended from the scanning line driving circuit and an plurality of data lines(68) extended from data line driving circuit are formed at the display unit.
