<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform layout of objects more efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: Form use layout processing for performing layout of selected photographs using a form in which the number of faces arranged in a row direction and a column direction are predetermined, is carried out (S200). An occupancy rate X which is an occupying rate of the selected photographs arranged in a designated form by this processing is computed (S220). When the computed occupancy rate X is less than a threshold Xref, cramming layout processing for cramming the selected photographs in the row direction and column direction of the designated form within a possible range for layout is carried out (S230, S250) to create layout (S295).
