<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid control device and a hybrid control method for enabling a hybrid vehicle to continue traveling by reducing a power generated in a power generator when a motor fails. <P>SOLUTION: This hybrid control device 84 is provided with a power control part for controlling, based on the required power of a vehicle 1, an engine 2 connected to a planetary carrier 617 configuring a power dividing mechanism 61, a power generator MG1 connected to a sun gear 611 and a motor MG2 connected through a deceleration mechanism 63 to a driving shaft 62 of the vehicle 1 connected to a ring gear 612.
