PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which prevents water from entering a case when a user fails to close a cover of a connector portion of an external I/F. SOLUTION: The portable terminal having a cover for covering the connector portion of the external I/F and an opening of the connector portion includes:a detection means (S101) for detecting that the cover of the connector portion is opened, a determining means (S103) for determining whether an application program that uses the external I/F is started, and a warning means (S107) for generating a warning that instructs the user to close the cover of the connector portion when it is detected that the cover of the connector portion is opened and it is determined that the application program is not started.
