PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system by which rotation processing of image data is performed without being conscious of size restriction of the image data by a hardware rotation processing means on the side of an image reader. SOLUTION: When the rotation processing of the image data read by a reading means 211 can be performed as it is by the hardware rotation processing means 213 on the side of the image reader 200, the image processing system performs the rotation processing of the image data at high speed by the hardware rotation processing means 213. In addition, when the rotation processing of the image data read by the reading means 211 cannot be performed as it is by the hardware rotation processing means 213 on the side of the image reader 200, the image data is divided, the rotation processing is performed to the image data by the hardware rotation processing means 213, pieces of the divided image data after the rotation processing are sequentially transmitted to the image processor 100, and rotated image data are synthesized from a plurality of pieces of divided image data after the rotation processing by an image synthesis means of the image processor 100.
