884,768. Centrifugal separators. WESTFALIA SEPARATOR A.G. Sept. 26, 1958 [Sept. 27, 1957], No. 30833/58. Class 23. [Also in Group XXVI] The end of a stationary inlet or outlet conduit of a centrifugal separator is movable radially in all directions, and is sealed to the rotary bowl. As shown in Fig. 1 the stationary inlet conduit 8 for auxiliary liquid has an end-piece 13 resiliently mounted on the part 14 of the conduit by means of rubber rings 16, 17 and the end-piece is engaged by a seal 11 fixed to the part 22 of the rotary bowl. The auxiliary liquid is discharged into the separating chamber by pipes 10. Separated solids are discharged by pipes 5 and the separated liquids and auxiliary liquid are removed by a skimming device 7. Instead of resiliently mounting the end-piece it may be of resilient material and have a part having a low coefficient of friction engaged by the seal. In Fig. 3 the end-piece 13 of the stationary inlet conduit carries the seal 11 which engages the neck 23 of the rotary bowl. |
