An afforestation net using seed lines made of cornstarch and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to promote the germination and growth of seeds, which results from the biodegradation of the afforestation net. An afforestation net comprises a net sheet(10) and a seed line(20). The net sheet has a lattice or mesh opening. The seed lines are connected to the net sheet. The seed lines contain an outer cover made of cornstarch. The outer cover covers seeds, fertilizer and leaf mould. The outer cover includes an additive made of vegetable fiber or sweet potato starch. The outer cover contains the additive made of calcium carbonate, paraffin or stearic acid as well as cornstarch. The net sheet is weaved with jute yarn. A method for manufacturing the afforestation net comprises the following steps of: mixing cornstarch and water and kneading the dough; extruding the dough, which is the outer cover; wrapping the seeds, fertilizer and leaf mould with the outer cover and manufacturing the seed lines with it; and connecting the seed lines to the net sheet. |
