<p>A power saving apparatus for an air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to sense whether an air conditioner is operated by using a current sensor and controls an air conditioner only while operating the air conditioner. A power saving apparatus for an air conditioner comprises an air conditioner state sensing unit(110), a moving body sensing unit(120), a setting unit(130), and a control box(140). The air conditioner state sensing unit senses whether the air conditioner is operated. The moving body sensing unit senses motion of a human body. An air conditioner kind classified according to a characteristic of a signal receivable by a remote controller receiving unit and a response timing of an air handling unit is inputted. If human motion is not detected by the air conditioner state sensing unit, the control box transmits an off signal for stopping an air conditioner or an integrated signal.</p> |
