<p>A liquid crystal panel (10) has a color filter of three colors R, G, and B, and a backlight (20) includes LEDs of four colors (respectively two or more R, G, B, and cyanogen LEDs) whose luminance can be controlled independently. A backlight data processing part (33) divides an output signal of a chrominance signal correction part (32) into a plurality of areas, calculates the luminance value of an LED corresponding to each area on the basis of gradation in each area, and obtains backlight data of four or more colors to be used for driving the backlight (20). A video data processing part (34) performs chrominance correction of the output signal of the chrominance signal correction part (32) by referring to the backlight data and obtains video data of three colors to be used for driving the liquid crystal panel (10). This prevents color crosstalk to perform high-definition multi-primary color display and accurate color reproduction.</p> |
