PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component of a vehicle collision simulator, obtaining horizontal acceleration higher than conventionally. SOLUTION: A pitching device 21, as a component of an vehicle collision simulator, includes a lower thread 2 supported on a lower guide rail 3 to slide forward and backward, an upper thread 4 with the specimen 1 a located above the lower thread 2 and with the rear end side of which is supported capable of vertical turning and the front-end side being supported to slide vertically; and an actuator 11 for applying acceleration at vehicle collision, wherein the lower thread 2 is projected backward along the lower guide rail 3 by the actuator 11, thereby applying acceleration, at vehicle collision to the sample 1 via the lower thread 2, and giving the pitching operation thereto. The lower guide rail 3 includes a projecting area A and a braking area B, and the lower guide rail 3 of the projecting area A is subjected to surface treatment which causes decrease in the coefficient of friction.
