PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread, which contains liquid polybutadiene and improves dry grip performance and wet grip performance while maintaining low-temperature performance and wear resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire tread is prepared by blending 3-50 pts.wt. of carbon black with a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 70-130 m<SP>2</SP>/g, 70-120 pts.wt. of silica, 1-20 pts.wt. of a liquid polybutadiene with number-average molecular weight of 2,000-10,000 and a vinyl bond content of 50% or less, and 1-15 pts.wt. of an ester-based plasticizer with 100 pts.wt. of a diene rubber containing 40 wt.% or more of a natural rubber or a butadiene rubber.
