PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine allowing a player to play a favorable game even when a number less than 100 is set as the number of shooting balls in the game machine allowing the player to set the number of shooting balls per unit time. SOLUTION: Variable pattern tables for selecting a variation pattern which prescribes a performance display time are varied for every number of shooting balls per unit time, when the number of hooting balls is small, the performance display time of a selected variable pattern table is defined short (to elongate an average variation time), and when the number of shooting balls is large, the performance display time of the selected variation patter table is defined to a short time as a whole (to shorten the average variation time), so that whatever time the player sets as the number of shooting balls per unit time, the game is executed without any delay of the symbol variation.
