PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of previously preventing overlap of schedules in sample observation in an incubator. SOLUTION: An input part of the incubator receives a first input for selecting a specified culture vessel of which the observation schedule is registered, and a second input for specifying the image-taking condition of the specified culture vessel in an observation sequence, and a third input for regulating a condition of time lapse observation of the specified culture vessel and a starting time of the time lapse observation from a user. A calculation part calculates a required time for the observation of the specified culture vessel from the first data and the second date according the image-taking condition. A schedule-managing part temporarily sets the schedule of the time lapse observation of the specified culture vessel according the third input and the time required for the observation. The schedule-managing part determines whether the temporarily set schedule of the time lapse observation overlaps with already registered observation schedules based on the schedule data.
